Eric Winford's article in the Fall 2006 Sierra Citizen takes a range-wide view of the need to work together across diverse consituencies in the Sierra Nevada to address issues of growth, land use and water quality. In the face of pressures that may not really be felt for 5 to 10 years, "the biggest problem facing citizens who wish to solve these issues is the animosity between opposing groups that each hold a stake in the outcome of the Sierra. This political rhetoric claims that the differences between us are insurmountable, so we might as well not try."
