It was truly an honor to receive the Peabody for our series, Crossing East. Dmae and I worked with nearly 50 producers over the course of 3 years to tell first-person stories of Asian American history. Dmae's Crossing East approach, along with the Storycorps approach to personal storytelling pioneered by David Isay have inspired me in the Saving The Sierra project. The collection of many voices for the Sierra our Storybooth and the first-person story focus in our upcoming documentary owe much to these award-winning productions.
