Precipitation came today in a mist so uniform and complete that rain wasn't just falling, but also rising and skidding sideways and swirling in spirals, too. Winter is coming to the mountains. I've got 2 cords of wood put up and heavy duty plastic tarps on the piles that are left out there, ready to split, cart and stack in the woodshed.
This weather reminds me that I'm a bit behind in wood gathering, but at least I'm safe until the next sunny days when I'll put on my work clothes, grab a Coke and headphones and sit in front of the almighty wood splitter for many hours of worship.
Have a lovely visit to Placerville next week, Lori. I don't envy you the traffic (!) on I-80.
Crispy on San Juan Ridge, too
