A sense of place...

That collection of words never fails to remind me of how something that is often taken for granted or completely ignored is so vital to a healthy community. I applaud those who make every effort to bring the idea of "place" to the forefront of people's minds and educate the community on the historical and present significance of a geographic location. How can one care about a place they don't know anything about? This can be in the form of history or in my favorite form, ecological literacy.
