Wonder what young folks feel about the Sierra? What they think about when it comes to conservation of the range? I do. How do they express their sense of belonging (or not) to this place. What conservation issues are important to them? What role do they see themselves playing in addressing those issues?
To find out, the Saving The Sierra Storybooth ventured up to North Columbia Schoolhouse (outside of Nevada City) to spend the afternoon with the students from the Woolman School and collect their thoughts, hopes, observations, and ideas on the themes of place, conservation, and collaboration. Saving The Sierra collaborated with the Woolman School and the Yuba Watershed Institute to integrate the Storybooth's appearence into their day-long Youth Forest Ecology and
Writing Workshop. You'll be able to listen to what these young adults had to say on the Storybooth page of our website in October. Thanks to Woolman and YWI. Stay tuned!
