This years 11th Annual Creek Week 2007 event was a success!
Organized and hosted by the Dry Creek Conservancy with special help from the City of Roseville and volunteer citizens.
This is an annual event that focuses on community volunteerism to aid in watershed restoration projects and watershed activities in the Roseville, Rocklin, Loomis, and Placer County areas. The cleanups took place on; Dry Creek, Linda Creek, Cirby Creek, Miner's Ravine, Maidu Park, Antelope Creek, Pleasant Grove Creek, and the NWRSP Wetland Preserve near Woodcreek Oaks in Roseville.
The official report summary: (truncated of course)
This was a great opportunity to flex your conservation and restoration muscles and do some good for our Sierra Foothill communities and our local watersheds. Please visit the CreekWeek.org website to view a list of sponsors and see who is supporting these activities. This event only comes around once a year but there are many other events one can contribute time, money, or labor to. Do a little searching and if you cannot find anything feel free to email me and I'l start a mission to find something for you. :)

Thats Great!
Congratulations on a great turnout!
Thanks, Justin, for letting us know that folks on the edges of the Sierra are doing their part for conservation in their own growing communities! It's great to hear about these communities paying attention to caring for the natural areas in the midst of the development that is the usual story from these parts!
